One of the most important things you can do to help your child get castings (and therefore jobs!), is keeping their information up-to-date! Often a client, particularly for a photoshoot, will ask for children who have certain measurements. If their measurements are out of date, they could end up being passed on for a great role, or they could miss the deadline whilst we are awaiting updated measurements.

We’ve found the best way to combat this is by using this handy monthly checklist:

[   ] Check and update measurements. We need height, waist and chest in centimetres, as well as clothing and shoe sizes. If there are any changes please do update these on our back office.

[   ] Are you going on a well-deserved holiday? Are exams coming up? If there is something which means you wouldn’t be able to make castings for a while, please make sure we are kept updated. It is awkward if we manage to secure a great casting but have to let the client down because we didn’t know you were off to Spain!

[   ] Missing teeth? Braces? Drastic new haircut? Broken bones? These are all things we need to know about as soon as possible! If you could also send across an updated photograph showing the new development, that would be great. These don’t necessarily rule a child out, but it gives us the opportunity to be transparent with the clients.

[   ] Are your photos up-to-date? Ideally, new pictures will be taken at least every 12 months, and more often for babies and toddlers as they change so often. If your pictures are out of date, we cannot use them to submit for jobs.
